'Ducks in Winter' - a two part photograph by Menega Sabidussi of a mallard duck pair in winter. This is part 1 with the drake, the male duck.
Ducks mate in the the winter season, I found this pair bobbing and snoozing with their bottoms close together on the pastel colored water which is deceptively gentle looking but it was icy cold. It is said that ducks don't feel the cold but I don't know... they do like to bond and huddle together when temperatures drop.
