Nostalgic winter scene during heavy snowfall along the banks of the river Danube in Ybbs, Austria. This was taken before the flood-dam was built in recent years. The first house to the right bears high-water markings of the historic tides that have plagued this small town, high up is the one from 1506, the 2002 Great Flood of Central Europe, that caused so much damage, is only about half way up.
The area between the historic houses and the river looks different now and has lost most of its charm. The old, unused tracks, the row of wrought iron lamp posts and the trees and shrubs are gone. Soft and dreamy black and white image.
